Health Advocacy
On Saturday, October 25, the Health Advocacy Campaign (2) was launched under the initiative of RHSTEP and the Unlocking Youth Potential (UYP) Chittagong Center. The event aimed to promote health awareness among adolescents, youth, guardians, and working women. Services provided included blood grouping, diabetes screening, blood pressure measurement, and an informative session on women’s Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR). Dr. Habib Al Musahid Tahsin and Dr. Jannatul Israt Anika led the session, which was chaired by Apu Dasgupta, Project Officer of the Unstoppable Youth Chittagong Center. The program was moderated by Annie Chowdhury, Youth Officer of the same organization. The speakers emphasized, “Young people are the backbone of our nation, and maintaining both physical and mental well-being is crucial. The primary aim of this campaign is to increase health consciousness among youth and to develop a positive attitude towards nutrition and menstrual health. Often, discussing topics such as menstruation, reproductive health, family planning, or sex education remains taboo, but these are entirely natural and scientific matters. “Through counseling sessions and open discussions, participating youth gained valuable knowledge on sexual and reproductive health.
