Youth Health Council – Rangpur

On 17 November 2025 at 11:00 AM, a new Youth Health Council was formed at the seminar room of Aparajeyo Tarunno (UYP Project), Rangpur. The event began with an oath-taking ceremony, followed by a parliamentary-style debate on the topic:

“The main obstacle to including SRHR in Bangladesh’s education curriculum is the conservative mindset.”

Mr. Joylala, Joint Secretary of the National Debate Federation, served as Speaker and praised the participants’ logical and evidence-based arguments. He emphasized that while conservatism is a barrier, issues like inadequate teacher training, limited budget, technological gaps, and weak implementation are even greater challenges.

The opposition team won the debate, arguing that structural problems—not conservative attitudes alone—are the primary obstacles. Md. Adnan Al-Amin, a Public Administration student from Begum Rokeya University, was awarded Best Speaker. The winners received a crest, and all participants were honored with medals.

The program was presided over by Project Officer Mr. Animesh Roy and conducted by Youth Officer Swarnali Acharjee.
The event aimed to strengthen young people’s understanding of SRHR, enhance leadership and debate skills, and prepare the Youth Health Council for active community-level SRHR advocacy.
