Theatre for SRHR – Chittagong

On Tuesday, November 11, 2025, the Chattogram Center of Aporajeyo Tarunno (UYP Project) organized a unique street play focusing on ā€œTheater for SRHRā€ (Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights) titled ā€œAmra Bodle Jacchiā€ (We Are Changing), in the Majhirghat Kacharali Community.

The drama used real-life stories to vividly present crucial issues such as adolescent changes, the harmful impacts of child marriage and drug abuse, and general health awareness.

Apu Dasgupta, Project Officer for the Aporajeyo Tarunno Chattogram Center, said

“The youth constitute a large segment of our country’s population, representing both immense potential and significant challenges. It is imperative to remove all barriers preventing this group from having equal access to opportunities. Specifically, adolescent healthcare remains in a very vulnerable state. Moreover, without comprehensive support from society, families, and the state, they are more likely to be led astray. Aporajeyo Tarunno hopes this awareness-raising street play will act as a beacon of light for our younger generation.”

The gathering also saw the participation of community leaders, teachers, and parent representatives. The overall direction of the street play was overseen by the Youth Officer anny chowdhury.
