Program on Ensuring Active Participation of Marginalized Groups in Health & SRHR Dialogues held by UYP Mymensingh

 

On October 23, 2025, the (UYP) Mymensingh Centre organized a discussion program titled ‘Program on ensuring active participation of marginalized groups in health & SRHR dialogues’.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Ferdous Ara Akhter, Assistant Director (Clinical Contraception) of the Directorate General of Family Planning, Mymensingh District, as a special guest, and Mr. Md. Golam Mostofa, Director of the Divisional Social Services Office, Mymensingh, was also present. The program was presided over by Reshmina Haque, Project Officer of the UYP Mymensingh Centre, and moderated by Sanjay Chandra Roy, Youth Officer of the centre.

The event commenced with a welcome and brief introductory speech by Youth Officer Sanjay Chandra Roy about UYP, RHstep, and SRHR (Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights). Following the introduction session, the special guest, Dr. Ferdous Ara Akhter, delivered a directional speech to the underprivileged participants who had come from various schools and areas, emphasizing the importance of reproductive health and awareness.

Next, under the guidance of mentors and youth advocates, the underprivileged participants were divided into three groups to identify and list the problems in their respective areas. Focusing on these identified problems, the other guest, Mr. Md. Golam Mostofa, gave a speech, outlining the appropriate actions required to solve the issues.

The event concluded with the closing remarks from the president of the meeting, Reshmina Haque, Project Officer of the UYP Mymensingh Centre.
