Unlocking Youth Potential (UYP) proudly announces the formation of the National Youth Health Council Committee through the National Youth Health Council Programāmarking a significant milestone in institutionalizing youth voices within Bangladeshās health policy landscape.
Formed in the presence of our Guest of Honour, Professor Syed Abdul Hamid, Institute of Health Economics, University of Dhaka, and distinguished guest Mahmuda Mohsina Bushra, Psychotherapist and Trainer Consultant (City Hospital Ltd) and Prothom Alo Bondhu Sova, the newly established committee will serve as a youth-led national platform to advocate for Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
The National Youth Health Council Committee will work to raise youth perspectives in national-level health policy making, monitoring, and accountability processes, ensuring that health reforms are inclusive, evidence-informed, and responsive to the needs of young people across Bangladesh.
Through this initiative, UYP reaffirms its commitment to empowering youth as partnersānot just beneficiariesāof the health system, and to strengthening meaningful youth participation in advancing UHC and equitable health reform.
